The science behind functional water
No jargon walls, no miracle claims. Just the three numbers that describe your water, and how Believe changes them.
Believe uses electrolysis: RO water flows over 11 platinum-coated titanium plates separated by a proton exchange membrane. The negative cathode side produces alkaline water (pH 8.5–10.5) rich in dissolved hydrogen with a negative, antioxidant ORP; the positive anode side produces acidic water (≈ pH 3.5) for cleaning.
Acidic or alkaline? Oxidising or antioxidant?
pH tells you how acidic or alkaline water is; 7 is neutral. ORP, in millivolts, tells you whether water tends to oxidise (+) or act as an antioxidant (−).

What “ppb” on the display means
Hydrogen water is drinking water with extra dissolved molecular hydrogen (H₂), measured in parts per billion. 1,000 ppb = 1 mg of hydrogen per litre.
- Formed at the cathode as tiny bubbles during electrolysis
- Water looks briefly milky: that’s micro-bubbles of H₂
- Believe produces roughly 800–1,200 ppb, shown live
- Hydrogen escapes over time, so drink it fresh

How electrolysis transforms water
Electrolysis is a controlled electrochemical process. Water passes over charged platinum-titanium plates, separated by a proton exchange membrane, and splits into two streams.
The strength of electrolysis decides the pH range, hydrogen output, ORP and taste of the water. Believe uses 11 premium plates, far more than standard ionizers, for stronger, more stable and longer-lasting electrolysis.
Why 11 plates matter
- Larger surface areaMore contact with water means better electrolysis.
- Stronger electrolysisConsistent performance even with varying TDS.
- Higher hydrogenMore plates, more H₂ generation.
- Wider pH range3.5 to 10.5 across 7 functional water types.
- Better durabilityPremium platinum coating lasts longer.
- More stable ORPConsistent antioxidant properties.

Precise pH with SMPS technology
A Switched-Mode Power Supply delivers stable voltage to the plates even when household electricity fluctuates. That gives consistent pH output, protects the platinum coating, and maximises hydrogen generation.

Science & installation questions
Is RO water acidic?
Usually, yes. Reverse osmosis removes most dissolved minerals, and the water absorbs carbon dioxide from air, so RO output typically measures around pH 5.5–6.5. It is clean, but slightly acidic, with an oxidising ORP of about +200 to +400 mV and no dissolved hydrogen.
What is ORP and why does negative ORP matter?
ORP (oxidation-reduction potential) shows whether water tends to oxidise (positive mV) or reduce (negative mV). Believe brings RO water from about +300 mV down to −200 to −400 mV, which means the water has antioxidant (reducing) potential.
What is hydrogen-rich water?
Water containing dissolved molecular hydrogen (H₂), measured in parts per billion (ppb). Believe produces roughly 800–1,200 ppb and shows the live reading on its display, so you can see what you are drinking.
Do I need an RO purifier to use Believe?
Yes. Believe is designed to enhance RO water, not replace your RO. It works best with RO output of TDS 100–150 ppm, neutral pH 6.5–7.5 and stable flow and pressure.
Which RO brands is Believe compatible with?
Believe works after virtually any domestic RO: Kent, Aquaguard, Livpure, Pureit, AO Smith and others. Our free installation assessment confirms compatibility before installation.
How long does installation take?
A typical countertop installation takes about an hour once compatibility is confirmed. Our technician fits the connection, sets up the unit and walks your family through all 7 water types.
